Aquacize and Aqua Therapy Instructor

 

UBC is looking for enthusiastic and energetic part-time instructors of moderate to high level Shallow and Deep Water Aquacizes. 

In addition, UBC is looking for instructors with backgrounds in instructing mild, rehab / therapy type Aquacizes to specific participant groups.  Classes are offered primarily in the mornings with some evening class offerings.

Instructing Aquacize classes to a diverse group of users, including the general public, students, staff, facility and campus residents.

 

The UBC Aquatic Centre, on the Vancouver campus, is a new facility with 4 pool tanks:  10 lane, 50 metre Competitive/Training pool, 8 lane, 25 metre Recreational  pool, warm Leisure pool with lazy river and spray features and a hot tub.  All pools are accessible with ramps or lifts.  Sauna and steam rooms, universal, men's and women's change rooms and other amenities are included within the new facility.

 

Current BCRPA Aquacize instructor registration or equivalent certification is required.  Previous experience is strongly recommended.

 

Rate of pay is $27.00 per hour

  • YMCA Aquatic Fitness Certificate, or equivalent, is preferred
  • Advanced leadership courses are an asset
