National Lifeguard Waterfront Recert
Description
The objective of the NL Waterfront Precert clinic is to provide candidates an opportunity to review waterfront skills and knowledge and to provide education on new information before the start of the Recert clinic.
Although not a requirement, the BC & Yukon Branch highly recommends that candidates attend an NL Waterfront Precert prior to attempting an NL Waterfront Recert exam.
Prerequisites
- National Lifeguard Waterfront (need not be current)
Candidates are responsible for having the correct prerequisites. If you have any questions in regards to this please reach out to us.
Recognition
- National Lifeguard certification card.

- 2 years from certification date

National Lifeguard Waterfront
Description
The National Lifeguard Waterfront (44 Hours) certification is designed to develop the fundamental values, judgment, knowledge, skills and fitness required by waterfront lifeguards. The NL Waterfront course emphasizes the lifeguarding skills, principles and practices, and the decision-making processes which will assist the lifeguard in providing effective safety supervision in waterfront environments.
Prerequisites
- Bronze Cross (need not be current)
- 15 years of age (by last day)
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C/AED (from a recognized agency below; need not be current)
- Lifesaving Society
- Canadian Red Cross
- St. John Ambulance
- Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
- Canadian Ski Patrol
