Overview
National Trainers represent the Lifesaving Society with professionalism and integrity, delivering and evaluating Trainer courses while mentoring candidates and new Trainers. They ensure program quality, support leadership development, contribute to program design, and promote the Society’s values and training standards.
Prerequisites
National Trainers are Branch appointed. To be eligible for appointment as a National Trainer, applicants:
- Must be a member in good standing of the Lifesaving Society.
- Must be an experienced and active Lifesaving Society Trainer.

Conflict of interest: Individuals who are officers or senior representatives of organizations or
agencies that offer programs that compete with those of the Lifesaving Society are not eligible for
appointment as a National Trainer.

Currency
Appointed as a National Trainer for a two-year term; may be re-appointed for additional two-year terms
thereafter.
