Parent & Tot 1 – Jellyfish

Jellyfish

Parent & Tot 1 (Jellyfish) is a beginner swimming class designed for infants aged 4 to 12 months and their parents. This class focuses on introducing young children to water safety and basic swimming skills in a safe and supportive environment. Parents learn how to safely enter and exit the water with their tots and develop their child’s readiness for submersion. The class includes holding the tot on their front while maintaining eye contact and supporting the tot’s head and back while they float on their back. Assisted front and back floats are introduced, helping the tot become comfortable in the water. Parents will also assist their child in floating while wearing a personal flotation device (PFD). The course covers basic arm movements such as splashing, reaching, and paddling, as well as leg movements like tickling, splashing, and kicking, both on the front and back. Additionally, WaterSmart® messages are incorporated to educate parents and tots on essential water safety practices.
