Preschool 1 (Octopus) is a beginner swimming class tailored for children aged 3 to 5 years, aimed at introducing basic water skills and safety awareness. The class includes assisted entry and exit from shallow water, allowing children to become familiar with the pool environment. Tots will practice assisted jumps into chest-deep water, gaining confidence with deeper water. The class encourages children to put their faces in the water and blow bubbles, helping them become comfortable with submersion. Assisted floats on the front and back for three seconds each are introduced, promoting buoyancy and balance in the water. Children will also learn safe movement in shallow water while wearing a personal flotation device (PFD) and practice assisted back glides for three meters, building foundational swimming skills. Throughout the course, WaterSmart® messages are emphasized to teach children and parents essential water safety practices.
