Swimmer 1

Overview

Swimmer 1 is designed for children aged 5 to 12 years, focusing on building fundamental swimming skills and water safety. In this class, children learn to enter and exit shallow water, jump into chest-deep and deep water while wearing a personal flotation device (PFD), and tread water for 30 seconds with the PFD. They practice holding their breath underwater for 5 seconds, submerging and exhaling five times, and opening their eyes underwater. The class includes floating on the front and back for 5 seconds each, rolling laterally from front to back and back to front, and gliding on the front, back, and side for 3 meters each. Students will also practice flutter kicking on the front and back for 5 meters each and the front crawl for 5 meters while wearing a PFD. WaterSmart® messages are included to teach essential water safety practices.
