Swimmer 2

Overview

Swimmer 2 is aimed at children aged 5 to 12 years, building on foundational swimming skills and safety. In this class, children will learn to jump into deep water, return, and exit safely, as well as perform a sideways entry while wearing a personal flotation device (PFD). They will practice treading water for 15 seconds, retrieving objects from the bottom in chest-deep water, and performing a PFD-assisted jump into deep water, followed by treading for 30 seconds and swimming or kicking for 15 meters. Skills include flutter kicking on the front, back, and side for 10 meters each, and the whip kick in a vertical position for 30 seconds with an aid. Students will also practice the front crawl and back crawl for 10 meters each and participate in interval training with 4 x 5-meter flutter kicks, including 20-second rests. WaterSmart® messages are incorporated to reinforce essential water safety practices.
