Swimmer 4

Overview

Swimmer 4 is designed for advanced swimmers aged 5 to 12 years, emphasizing endurance and technique. In this class, children will practice standing dives into deep water and tread water for 1 minute. They will also swim underwater for 5 meters and complete the Canadian Swim-to-Survive® Standard, which includes a roll entry into deep water, treading for 1 minute, and swimming 50 meters. The class focuses on advanced skills such as the whip kick on the front for 15 meters and breaststroke arms drills for 15 meters. Students will practice front crawl and back crawl for 25 meters each, and participate in interval training with 4 x 25-meter front or back crawl sprints with 20-second rests. The class also includes a sprint front crawl for 25 meters. WaterSmart® messages are incorporated throughout to reinforce essential water safety practices.
