Swimmer 6

Overview

Swimmer 6 is an advanced class for children aged 5 to 12 years, focusing on refined swimming techniques and endurance. In this class, children will practice stride entries and compact jumps into deep water. They will perform legs-only surface support for 45 seconds and swim underwater for 10 meters to recover an object. Skills include the eggbeater kick on the back for 15 meters and the scissor kick for 15 meters. Students will swim 50 meters of breaststroke and 100 meters each of front crawl and back crawl. The class features a head-up swim for 25 meters and interval training with 4 x 25 meters of breaststroke with 30-second rests. Sprints of breaststroke for 25 meters and a 300-meter workout are included to build endurance. WaterSmart® messages are incorporated to reinforce vital water safety practices.
