Teach First Aid
You understand the importance of knowing first aid; now pass your skills and knowledge onto others by learning to teach first aid.
In the First Aid Instructor course, you will learn to teach the Lifesaving Society of BC & Yukon’s unique and simplified approach to making First Aid training accessible.
As one of the big five first aid training agencies in Canada, the Lifesaving Society of BC & Yukon’s first aid continuum is recognized by WorkSafeBC as Occupational First Aid Basic and Intermediate equivalent providers, meets all provincial legislation requirements and certifications transferable between provinces because the first aid courses adhere to the National CSA Group curriculum standards.
Process to Attain Certification:
- Present the necessary prerequisites
- Read the Canadian First Aid Manual
- Attend 100% of the First Aid Instructor course
- Successfully demonstrate Level 1 Competencies within the course time.
- Successfully demonstrate Level 1 Competencies in 2 teaching apprenticeship (Standard First Aid full courses within 2 years of course completion)
- Submit apprenticeship package to the Branch Office for approval
- Instructors will receive a certification in the mail upon approval of their apprenticeship package.
